The project was to renovate and design a unique home in the heart of Kensington.

Originally built by a renowned British architect as a space for art, the house presented a clear challenge. The interiors were called upon to introduce warmth and soul to its vast proportions while preserving the purity of its architectural identity.

EF Design developed the concept Inside Outside celebrating the seamless connection between the house and its garden. A refined palette of deep greens, chocolate tones and soft gold accents reflects the surrounding landscape and existing wood panelling. A fifteen-metre wall in Green Smoke anchors the space with depth and character.

To introduce warmth within the grand scale, EF Design designed bespoke walnut furniture inspired by vintage pieces. They instil soul and a sense of timelessness. Clean architectural lines are softened by organic shapes. Curved sofas in linen and green velvet sit alongside bespoke free form-shaped walnut tables. The bedside tables and chest of drawers draw inspiration from Scandinavian vintage furniture.

A custom walnut library, framed by a golden arch, defines the transition between kitchen and dining. The space remains open and fluid. Nature-inspired pendant lights float above a Verde marble dining table with a sculptural Florentine gold leg. Japanese paper lanterns and oversized bespoke rugs create balance and calm.

The result is a contemporary yet welcoming home. A quiet sanctuary shaped by architecture, nature and craft.
